Food Guide Pyramid

 Description

The Pyramid is divided horizontally into six bands. At its base, the band is labeled “Drinks” and shows pictures of cups, mugs and glasses. Outside the Pyramid, it says “I drink (space is provided to fill in a number) glasses each day. Favorites: (three spaces are provided to list favorite drinks).” The band next to the bottom of the Pyramid is labeled “Breads, Cereals, Rice, Noodles” and shows a picture of a loaf of bread. Outside the Pyramid, it says “I eat (space is provided to fill in a number) servings each day. Favorites: (three spaces are provided to list favorite breads, cereals, rice and/or noodle dishes).” The third band from the bottom is divided vertically in half. The left half is labeled “Vegetables” and shows a picture of a turnip. Outside the Pyramid, it says “I eat (space is provided to fill in a number) servings each day. Favorites: (three spaces are provided to list favorite vegetables).” The right half of the band is labeled “Fruit” and shows a picture of an apple. Outside the Pyramid, it says “I eat (space is provided to fill in a number) servings each day. Favorites: (three spaces are provided to list favorite fruits).” The fourth band from the bottom of the Pyramid (third down from the top) is labeled “Protein” and shows a picture of a plate containing beans and a chicken drumstick. Outside the Pyramid, it says “I eat (space is provided to fill in a number) servings each day. Favorites: (three spaces are provided to list favorite sources of protein).” The fifth band from the bottom of the Pyramid (second down from the top) is labeled “Dairy” and shows a picture of a glass and a carton of milk. Outside the Pyramid, it says “I eat (space is provided to fill in a number) servings each day. Favorites: (three spaces are provided to list favorite dairy products).” The band at the top of the Pyramid is labeled “Extras”. Outside the Pyramid, it says “I eat (space is provided to fill in a number) servings each day. Favorites: (three spaces are provided to list favorite foods that don’t fit into other categories).” Beneath the Pyramid are pictures of a person in a wheelchair and a person standing with hands on hips. These pictures are labeled “My favorite moving activities” and three spaces are provided for listing favorite forms of exercise.
