Urban-Rural County/Health Sector/Provider Wage Comparison; Providers’ Direct Services Staff (DSS) Turnover Rates for 3-Month Period (2001).  There were eight rural counties. The county average wage rate for all jobs in the first county was $8.80 and for health sector jobs was $8.20. The entry level direct service staff wage range for the provider in this county was $6.00 to $11.40 and the total turnover rate was 10%. The county average wage rate for all jobs in the second county was $9.30 and for health sector jobs was $8.11. The entry level direct service staff wage range for the provider in this county was $6.05 to $6.75 and the total turnover rate was 11%. The county average wage rate for all jobs in the third county was $10.25 and for health sector jobs was $11.58. The entry level direct service staff wage range for the provider in this county was $7.83 to $14.27 and the total turnover rate was 6%. The county average wage rate for all jobs in the fourth county was $10.80 and for health sector jobs was $14.52. There were two providers in this county.
