Living Well in the Community and Working Well with a Disability

Living Well in the Community (LWC) and Working Well with a Disability (WWD) are programs within the Healthy Community Living suite that promote healthy independent living. These consumer-directed workshops take participants on a journey of empowerment through peer support, goal setting, and problem-solving. Living Well in the Community helps participants develop goals for meaningful activities that are linked to the development of a healthy lifestyle. Working Well with a Disability builds on these concepts and emphasizes maintaining a balanced lifestyle to support employment. Living Well and Working Well participants report improvements in outlook, lifestyle, and health. Many report greater community participation in their pursuit of quality-of-life goals and healthier lifestyles.
